How To Choose A Suitable 6KA Automatic Circuit Breaker?

The following key factors need to be considered when choosing a suitable 6KA automatic circuit breaker:

1. Circuit parameter matching
Rated current: The rated current of the circuit breaker should be greater than or equal to the load working current of the circuit. This is the key to ensure that the circuit breaker will not malfunction under normal working conditions.
Rated voltage: The rated voltage of the circuit breaker should be greater than or equal to the rated voltage of the circuit to ensure that it can still work normally when the voltage fluctuates.

 

2. Protection characteristics
Short-circuit protection: The limit switching capacity (i.e., breaking capacity) of the circuit breaker should be greater than or equal to the maximum short-circuit current that the circuit may generate. For a 6KA automatic circuit breaker, its breaking capacity is 6KA, which is suitable for circuits where the short-circuit current does not exceed this value.
Overload protection: Select the appropriate overload protection characteristics according to the load characteristics. For example, for motor loads, it may be necessary to consider the matching of the motor's starting current and the overload protection curve.

 

3. Release type
Instantaneous release: used for short-circuit protection, its setting current should be set according to the maximum short-circuit current of the circuit.
Long-delay release: used for overload protection, its setting current should be set according to the long-term working current of the load.
Short-delay release (if necessary): used for selective protection, its action time should be between the instantaneous release and the long-delay release.

 

4. Environmental conditions
Ambient temperature: select the appropriate temperature level according to the working environment temperature of the circuit breaker. In high temperature environment, it is necessary to select a circuit breaker with higher temperature tolerance.
Humidity and pollution level: in humid or heavily polluted environment, it is necessary to select a circuit breaker with moisture and pollution resistance.
Altitude: The air pressure in high altitude areas is low, which may affect the heat dissipation performance of the circuit breaker, so it is necessary to select a suitable circuit breaker according to the altitude.
